Terms & Acceptable Use

Last updated October 18, 2026

1. Who we are

Pegboard is a home inventory app built and run by Charlie, an individual — not a large company. By creating an account you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

2. What Pegboard is for

Pegboard is for photographing, listing and organizing household belongings: bins, drawers, shelves, closets, receipts, warranties and similar records.

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. Anyone under 18 should use Pegboard with a parent or guardian's permission, usually as a member of that adult's household.

3. What's never allowed

  • Nudity, sexual content or obscene images of any kind.
  • Any image that sexually exploits or endangers a child. This is a crime, and we have zero tolerance for it.
  • Images or notes meant to harass, threaten or humiliate another person.
  • Illegal goods or content, or using Pegboard to plan or record criminal activity.
  • Trying to access another household's data, break the app's security, or overload its systems.

4. How we respond

Your photos are private to your household and are not routinely viewed by anyone. We only look at content when it is reported to us, when the law requires it, or when needed to keep the service secure.

If we find content that breaks these rules, we may remove it and suspend or permanently close the account responsible, without a refund.

Suspected child sexual abuse material will be preserved and reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and law enforcement, as required by U.S. law.

5. Households

The person who creates a household is responsible for who they invite. Everyone in a household can see shared bins, photos and maps. If someone in your household uploads something that breaks these rules, please report it right away using “Drop Charlie a line” in Help & Info.

6. Your content and your data

What you upload stays yours. You give Pegboard only the permission needed to store it, show it to your household, and run the photo recognition you ask for.

We never sell your data or show ads. You can export everything, photos included, at any time on any plan.

7. Payments

The Lifetime Household License is a one-time $24.99 purchase. The 90-day pass is $9.99, includes 500 AI photo scans per household and does not renew automatically. Payments are processed by Stripe. Accounts closed for breaking these rules are not refunded.

Everything included with the Lifetime license on the day you buy it — unlimited items, 3,000 AI photo scans per household, unlimited barcode scanning, backups, maps and all core feature updates — stays included forever. If a high-cost AI tool (such as an ultra-precise scanner) is ever added in the future, it will be a strictly optional add-on, or usable with your own AI account key. It will never replace, limit or slow down the features you already have.

8. No guarantees

Pegboard is provided as it is. We work hard to keep it secure and running, but no system is perfect. Please keep your own backups (Household tab → Backup) of anything important, such as insurance records.

AI item names and estimated values are suggestions only and are not professional appraisals. Your insurance company decides what any claim pays.

Food: best-by and use-by dates in Pegboard are estimates or what you typed in. Recipe ideas are made by AI and can contain mistakes, including allergens. Always read product labels, cook food safely, and trust your own judgment before eating anything.

Recalls: Pegboard checks receipts you scan and, once a day, the US FDA and USDA recall lists. It only matches food saved with its brand and product name, can't see lot numbers, and can miss recalls or match the wrong item. It is not a complete recall service. For official recall information, check FoodSafety.gov.

Moving and other estimates (truck size, values, coverage) are rough guides only. Confirm with the mover, rental company or insurer.

Pegboard is not medical, legal, insurance or financial advice. To the fullest extent allowed by law, Pegboard and Charlie are not responsible for losses, illness, injury or damages that come from relying on the app. Our total responsibility to you is limited to what you paid for Pegboard in the past 12 months.

9. Changes and contact

These terms may be updated as Pegboard grows. We'll note the date below when they change. Questions or reports: use “Drop Charlie a line” in Help & Info inside the app, or email support@pegboardinventory.com. See also our Privacy Policy at pegboardinventory.com/privacy.
